OPENING CEREMONY FOR
WEIGHT WATCHERS’ PROJECT
Fetulele is a Samoan bilingual unit which provides learning in both the Samoan and English languages. There are 3 Samoan bilingual classes in the unit: Year 1-3, Year 4-6, and Year 7-8.
We aim to deliver teacher instruction in both mediums – which is using both Samoan and English languages to teach the curriculum subjects.
Year 1 – Year 2: The learning instruction is delivered in Total Immersion. According to research, students learn better when new concepts are introduced in their first language.
Year 3 – Year 8: The learning instructions are delivered in both mediums – 50% Samoan and 50% English medium of instruction.
We believe it takes a village to educate a child. Our school and parents work together to support our students’ learning by ensuring the children are at school every day and doing their best to achieve their learning goals and reach their achievement targets.
